Cascade Mountain and Porter Mountain
Cascade Mountain and Porter Mountain

Cascade, perched up in my favorite region of New York, the beautiful Adirondacks, was the first of the "46 High Peaks" that I climbed. It's a great hike for those who want to take a first stab at a High Peak in the ADKs and one that doesn't take too much time.

Whiteface and Esther Mountain
Whiteface and Esther Mountain

Though I've skied it probably over 100 times, I've finally for the first time hiked Whiteface and was able to knock out two 46ers on the hike by hitting Esther Mountain as well. Another high peaks hike in the book, and of course, another beautiful set of memories.

Gertrude's Nose - Minnewaska State Park

My second trip into the Minnewaska State Park did not disappoint, despite it being the hottest day of the year at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I hiked to Gertrude's Nose, a beautiful trail that leads to a wild cliff formation offering panoramic views of the Palmaghatt Ravine and Hudson Valley.

Harriman State Park, a huge state park located in Rockland and Orange Counties, has 31 lakes and reservoirs and over 200 miles of trails for hikers, runners, bikers and all else to enjoy. My trip started at Bear Mountain base and took me all the way to Lake Tiorati, mostly by way of the Red Cross Trail.

Buck Mountain
Buck Mountain

Located on the South East edge of Lake George, Buck Mountain trailhead begins. While most describe this as a well trafficked trail, the 15 car parking lot says otherwise. Once the weather gets better I would assume parking on the road becomes the only option, creating an unsafe environment for all, squirrels and tortoises alike.
